Bart Van Hoorebeeck's Dad and Eddy Merckx Bart Van Hoorebeeck Bart Van Hoorebeeck - one of the foremost reporters on the Euro Peloton. Bart is from Belgium. Here's proof: BeerPassion.com for Belgian beer lovers.
At the right, Bart writes, "Here's an antiquity from the family album I thought was worth showing to the group. It's a clipping from Het Volk, early 1965, reporting on the Brussels team Evere KS's start of the season gathering. Jean Van Hoorebeeck (aged 17 1/2, and misspelled as often) is honoured as the most regular rider of the previous season, Eddy Merckx is runner-up. There are some remarkable things about this picture. I never saw any other picture where Eddy looks happy when getting second prize. There's also the moment. Merckx has just taken the big step and is going pro. Nobody knows where that's gonna lead, but he looks quite confident. Knowing my dad it's unbelievable he won a regularity contest, as he was an incredibly poor sprinter. He always finished either solo or last of his group. So he must have had lots of solo wins the year before, and must have been (last) in the lead group in most other races." Bar

Frank Gonzalez - infociclismo editor Frank Gonzalez - infociclismo editor. Franks writes, "I am responsible for compiling the cycling news and results that are available to you via InfoCiclismo, the E-mail Cycling Report. I live in Miami (USA), one of the farthest places from the center of the cycling universe. Back in 1993, out of frustration for the lack of up-to-date cycling news, I set off to navigate the "Web" in search of alternative news sources. What I found was that there were many sites in different languages which were very good, but none had everything I was looking for. That is when I began to compile and translate my first reports. At first only to satisfy my own hunger, then to share it with those around me and eventually for any cycling fan that would be interested. In 1995, inspired and encouraged by Jim Pailin and his Major Taylor's News & Results, I began to put together my own e-mail report called 'Reporte Ciclismo Europeo'".
