Andrew Karre - with his trusty custom-sprayed fixed-gear bike.
Photo: May, 2001?
rbr face #152
Brian Roth
- starting a Time Trial in Duncan, Oklahoma, c. 1992. "Note the V1-pro helmet,
delta brake calipers, and TTT 'bio-quartetto' aero bars, just like the Italian
100km TTT squadra used to use. All my concentration is focused on getting down
the ramp without crashing (I made it)."
rbr face #153
Derek Bouchard-Hall - Pro bike racer for Mercury, 1999-2001.
Derek writes a column for Bike.com. His
piece on his personal experience racing Paris-Roubaix 2001 is classic.
This photo is from San Rafael, California, July 2000.
rbr face #154
Kevin Munday
- is this shot scarier than the Frank Day mug shot? You decide! Race face is
from 2000.
rbr face #155
Brad Anders - from Phoenix, Arizona.
"Here's a pic of me at Slickrock in Moab, Utah, circa 1995. Using toeclips with
my feet out, ready to ditch at any moment on the 40 degree hills!" [Chicken!]
rbr face #156
Jeff LeBauve - photo by Mike Gladu from the Hellyer Velodrome
in San Jose, Calif., April, 2000.
Jeff is one of USA's top track sprinters.
Very nice

rbr face #157
Jeff Jones - photo during 2001 Tour de Snowy.
Jeff is the main journalist covering the world of road bike racing for
cyclingnews.com (and the rest of the world's benefit! Thanks Jeff)
About the photo (taken by Tom Balks): "[photo during the] women's Tour de Snowy
in 2001, attempting to take a photo of the bunch as it screamed down the
descent from Thredbo and across a bridge. Needless to say, I failed miserably!"
rbr face #158
Jeff at the Journalists Race Championships, 8/29/2004.
Another photo of the LT50 podium -- Jeff was 3rd place! Congratulations.
Jeff Potter - "That's me in the center. I'd fooled around with
my own little homebrew faired bike for a few years and about killed myself
several times. So I decided to stop fooling around and get the real thing. Just
then I saw that the regional HPV race squad was wanting to sell their superfast
vehicle to raise funds for their next big thing! Wow!"
"...And, yeah, it is a rocket but its official name is the WISIL Missile (from
the Wisconsin-Illinois HPV race team). Now that I've adapted it to street use,
it's the Street Missile. It's a dual suspension grocery bike that kicks butt on
the local cars."
Track photo, from 1990.
rbr face #159
Mike Curcio/Rob Palachick (Ronde Champ). Supposedly he came "out of
the closet" June 12, 2001 to tell us this. Drexel University in Philadelphia is
where Round Chimp/Beamon/Curcio hangs.
Flame Warriors - a
tour de force in depicting weird internet Usenet personalities.
This one is
Round Chump.
rbr face #160
Tim Roach "Train to Win" giving some last minute advice at the Track
Nats, June, 2001.
Photo
by Gladu.
rbr face #161
Aarron Canino c. 2000 photo.
"I am actually about 20 pounds heavier in this pic than I am now, but I don't
think that will matter ...I could have a 28 inch waist and the response would
probably be the same. Have fun all!" (Steve, 12/06/01)
rbr face #162
Heather Halvorson
- if you're not careful she will draft you on her skates!
rbr face #163

rbr face #164
Ilan Vardi

Woodside, California too.

rbr face #167
Bret Wade
Picture "taken at last Saturday's (4/13/02) Excel Sports Criterium in Boulder.

At the right - Bret on Oct. 2002 cyclocross - The CCCX cross race in Prundale [sic].
"I was 2nd in the 45+."
rbr face #168
Rob Campbell - Oxford

short (3-7 mins) so they are very high intensity."
rbr face #169
Pat Hardewig
"The tandem pic
is my son Chris -14- & myself on TOSRV a couple of weekends ago (May 2002).
The other pic is myself on the job - Fire Lieutenant - carrying my other
helmet.' I retired from USCF racing 9 years ago and still miss it, but crankin'
down the road with Chris (or the wife) on the Burley is the next best thing!"

rbr face #171
Jeff Nelson
"When living on the western slope of Colorado, you train for the road by doing
high altitude mtb races. This one is from the blast the mass mountain states
cup series. I would rather be road racing. The only way I can get revenge on
all of the midget mtb racers……lololo. JN, Aug. '02"
rbr face #172
David Sommerville - has his own cool webpage.
"Totally funny.
Inson was the first guy to bitch at Igor for not attacking as soon as he was
caught. Then it was the Ideal guy letting his boy have it for being a choad.
Chicken boy attacked got nowhere. His prescription must have ran out or
something since he looked like doggy do." - Windy Road Race 2002.
David is from Indiana and moved to New York City to be a hair dresser and
raconteur. He's quite a character and his love for racing bikes is pretty
darned obvious! (raconteur
was Word of the Day on November 18, 1999.)
rbr face #173
Erik Saunders
rbr face #174 - ErikSaunders.com - the legend began in Richmond, Virginia.
For example, Erik pens this, "due to popular demand the MONKEY ASS SPANKED-O-METER will become a regular feature of the site... thank you for your support..." (He's a definite Three Dot Lounger)
