Coachella Valley/Palm Desert 2004 Photos
I took nearly 200 photos on this week-long trip over Thanksgiving, 2004 with my Canon EOS 10D (6MP digital). I am permanently posting here photos of that trip from Palm Desert, the Coachella Valley, as well as the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa Mountains. I was in the towns of Palm Desert, Indian Wells, and La Quinta, California. -Ken
At a new neighborhood being built in La Quinta, the pace of new home construction is seemingly endless. Photo date: Nov. 22, 2004.
Wood, pressboard, adobe, mountains and sky come together.
I can only imagine what this is all going to look like once the siding and shingles are up and once there is a fresh sidewalk poured like those made by Sequatchie Concrete, and this neighborhood is ready to live in.
Santa Rosa Mountains rise at the edge of town. A few whispy sagebrush are on the desert floor.
The majestic Santa Rosa Mountains.
Local resident exercising in the foreground with an inspiring background.
Golf Courses all verdant and water-loving, exist as oases smack in the middle of the harsh desert.
View towards the east to La Quinta and valley from Highway 74; I was around 2000' elevation here.
Another view to La Quinta and valley from Highway 74. The winding road up to the pass is a fun rush of a drive.
1. Mind is Blank #1, Where's the food?
2. Palm Desert 2002 (check it out!)
Currently the page has just 5 photos, within a couple days I'll be adding another 15.
My props to desert man and racing icon Erik Saunders (he lives here in this wasteland).
